Toughened glass Hornsey

Hornsey glass services

24 hour Hornsey toughened glass

Customer Name: Julian Jenkins.
I recently had work carried out by your group. I am writing to inform you of my satisfaction on the standard of the work and the approach of the engineers.
My wife and I were impressed by the engineers manner; we found them to be courteous and helpful. They contacted us over the phone on two occasions to arrange a time for them to call and on both occasions were true to their word and punctual.
I honestly believe them to be a credit to your company and even though I acknowledged their workmanship at the time, I would appreciate it, if you would let them know of my satisfaction of their part in the task carried out.
Thank you for a job well done!

Example of our glass services

Low Emissivity Glass
We recognize that a well-insulated home can save money on heating, so we offer our special “Low e” glass (sometimes referred to as “K” glass), for customers that are looking to lower their home heating bills by retaining more heat in their house.

Low Emissivity glass is only available for double-glazed windows, but can be supplied with either normal or toughened glass. This feature is provided using a metal-oxide layer that reduces the infrared radiation transferred between a cold and a warm pane of glass.

This type of glass results in an approximate reduction of energy loss by around 30-50% over standard annealed/toughened glass. Low E glass comes in a choice of two types of coating. “Soft-coat” is applied between panes of a double-glazed unit, because it is easily damaged, and it degrades when exposed to air.

“Hard-coat” can be applied to existing glass installations, and is more durable than “soft-coat”, although the performance compared to it is inferior.

Hornsey toughened glass services

Express Hornsey glazing experts offer a variety of safety glass services including toughened glass installations and replacements. Toughened glass will usually shatter into small fragments instead of sharp shards when broken, making it less likely to cause severe injury and deep lacerations. This is particularly useful for certain frames such as cat flaps, glass doors and tables.

Our Hornsey toughened glass normally takes three to five working days to order in for both single and double-glazed options. This glass is recommended for Hornsey residential customers, as the glass shatters into relatively harmless fragments upon impact, as opposed to the larger, more dangerous shards caused by breakage of normal glass. However, due to the security risk of having a large hole when the glass has been shattered, we do not recommend this for our Hornsey commercial customers, whom we offer laminate glass to instead.
